Perception is a choice.
We're making choices what we are seeing.
“We must learn to see. Seeing here is meant to metaphysically as heightened awareness and understanding, the intensification of one’s capacity to experience, reality through the realm of the senses.” – bell hooks
"I understood that advanced capitalism was affecting our capacity to see, that consumerism began to take the place of that predicament of heart that called us to yearn for beauty. Now many of us are only yearning for things." - bell hooks

Dance is activism. We are activists.

Every time you move, you are saying something.
If you are moving, you are an activist.
"Dance is activism. Dance is an act and it's radical, and in that way you're an agent of change, an agent of change in the world. It's that simple and it's that hard. There's that much resistance against you. People, they..."they" whatever that is... they don't want that change. They don't want other possibilities, that's scary... to be in a world of change. So even inside fixed movement I find myself an agent of change." - Jesse Zaritt (Dance Artist)

2014: I matter. You matter. We matter.

Happy New Year!!

My name is Lisa Kusanagi. I'm a Dance Expressionist.
I consider myself a dance artist and an activist.
I have a problem with the words "activist" and "activism" since the words contain negative meanings. When I make and present art works, I am proposing my ideas to the world rather than protesting against existing issues or situations.

I'd like to start sharing my thoughts and inspirations I find.
Let's care the world we're living and care the people we're sharing experience with.
Shall we?

Love,

Lisa Kusanagi
